Sometimes this journey of parenting a child with autism requires professionals to come along side my family. Sometimes as a parent I find that I simply have run out of strategies. What do you do when the help provided at home is not enough? What if all the strategies quit working, then what?
At that point I find myself asking for an evaluation outside of the home environment. Then life takes a pause. There may come a time when other professionals really take over 24/7 for a short time. I know this can be excruciating painful. Sometimes I have to let my child go–before I am ready.
